2K Games has welcomed Ben Brinkman from Respawn Entertainment to lead the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently developing the anticipated third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as Project Ethos.

This announcement echoes a similar move taken by the publisher in August, when they recruited Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to work on the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.

The gamer responses from last autumn’s the game demo was informative. It affirmed the appeal of a roguelike shooter but made clear we still had refinements needed. It revealed the need for a clearer identity.

It’s been inspiring to see how far you’ve advanced. You took the criticism to mind and revamped the title with a refreshed direction - one that’s ready to deliver on its potential to our audience.

Brinkman presently holds the role of senior developer and production lead at the renowned studio for their flagship title. Brinkman earlier was employed at major gaming companies in various production roles on the Call of Duty series, and, before that, had stints at 2K and Electronic Arts.

Project Ethos was unveiled in last year in conjunction with a public demo. Then, 31st Union described the title as a "free-to-play, 3rd-person action-packed experience and an innovative evolution on the style."
